Woke up at four am from a strange dream
Thought I'd found the key to all of mankind's ills
Turned out it was just a pop top from an old beer can
And it was being demanded of me from a guy named Stan
He wanted me to hand it over before daybreak
Trying to fool me he turned on a lamp
But I quickly reset the color of this strange dream
And told him it was just dusk
So sit tight 'cause you're going to have to wait
He said no worries I've nowhere to go
And anyway it's starting to snow
I tried to ignore him drinking my red bordeaux
When in walked a young Adrian Barbeau
Thus startled I dropped the pop top into a grate
Stan cursed in French and I couldn't translate
It was weird because I knew Adrian wasn't really there
But I was convinced Stan was and wanted tea
He wasn't wearing the best clothes however
Adrian turned around and called him Trevor
I told her to be nice as it was my strange dream
She said she didn't care and had to go
Told me to stop drinking the tea
Somebody then started playing a Rush CD
Almost more than I could bear
The plug must have been pulled
Because the music stopped
Just in the nick of time
That music was almost a war crime
It was quite the moment!
It became hard for me to see Stan's face
Adrian had disappeared without a trace
I looked everywhere all at once
But nothing could be found
I coughed but didn't make a sound
Then the light went out
Oh, wow.
Like I said it was a strange dream.
